Ruhr Metropolis - Dortmund

Dortmund is located in the east of the Ruhr area and is the largest city in the region. One of the highlights of Capital of Culture 2010 is the Dortmunder U-Turm. On the roof of this old storehouse of the Dortmunder Union brewery is still a large U, the company logo. Today, the building serves as a museum of art from the 20th and 21st century.

Furthermore, in Dortmund the DASA (Arbeitsschutzaustellung), where the daily lives of industrial workers is shown and the Dortmunder Naturkundemuseum (physics museum) worth a visit.
